Action Theater Improvisation classes
Action Theater is a practice of improvisation that has its roots in physical theater, dance and meditation. Through action, the practitioner hones their awareness in the moment. Exercises that focus on the elements of form--timing, shape, space duration, size, pitch, volume, mood, etc.--allow us to increase our awareness and control of the the details of our expression. Combined with a constant practice of releasing judgement and embracing what is, we achieve a liberation from familiar patterns of expression and begin to explore the vast array of possibilities available in the human experience.
Right now, we have an ongoing Tuesday night practice group for people who have taken Action Theater classes previously. Please contact Mary if you would like to join. Location is the North Coast Seed Building: 2127 N. Albina Ave, rm#211. All classes are from 6:30-8:30 pm and cost is $10-20 sliding scale.
We also offer workshops and 4 or 5-class beginner and continuing series periodically. We also offer weekend workshops periodically, host visiting teachers and travel to share workshops away from Portland.
